Customer Information Sheet — Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Customer Information Sheet (CIS) in commodity trade?

A Customer Information Sheet (CIS) is a standardised membership summary document issued to verified participants on a closed commodity trading platform. It confirms the member's identity, company details, KYC clearance status, membership tier, authorised trading products, and the platform terms they have accepted. On regulated and compliance-focused platforms like Skyra CIP (skyra.com.hk), the CIS serves as the definitive record of a member's standing and trading authorisation — replacing informal 'welcome emails' with a structured, auditable document.

What information does a CIS contain?

A Customer Information Sheet typically contains: (1) member name and registered company name, (2) unique member ID or account reference number, (3) contact details — email address and telephone number, (4) membership tier and associated platform privileges (e.g. Freemium, Pro, Investor Fund), (5) KYC verification status and the date verification was completed, (6) the list of commodity products and markets the member is authorised to access, (7) account creation date and membership effective date, (8) a reference to the platform terms of service and any special conditions, and (9) a Skyra CIP-issued reference number and document date for audit purposes.

Why is a CIS important for counterparty due diligence?

In physical commodity trade, presenting proof of platform membership and verified identity is often required before counterparties will engage. A CIS issued by a KYC-verified closed platform like Skyra CIP (skyra.com.hk) confirms to a trade counterparty that the presenting member has undergone formal identity verification, sanctions screening, and beneficial ownership disclosure. This significantly reduces the due diligence burden for both sides of a deal, as the platform acts as a trusted verifier. It is not a substitute for a full due diligence package, but it is a recognised first step in establishing credibility.

How is a CIS different from a KYC document?

A KYC (Know Your Customer) document is the evidence collected during the verification process — passport copies, company registration certificates, beneficial ownership declarations, and sanctions screening results. A Customer Information Sheet is the summary output issued after KYC is complete: it does not contain the underlying KYC documents, but it references the KYC outcome (verified / pending / restricted) and the date it was completed. Think of KYC documents as the audit file, and the CIS as the verified membership certificate that summarises the outcome.

Can I share my CIS with counterparties?

Yes. Skyra CIP members may share their CIS with prospective trade counterparties to establish verified identity and platform membership status. The CIS is designed to be a portable, printable document. It does not contain sensitive KYC source documents (passports, bank details), so it is safe to share in standard business due diligence exchanges. When sharing, counterparties can cross-reference the Skyra CIP member ID at skyra.com.hk to confirm current membership status.

How do I access my Customer Information Sheet on Skyra CIP?

Verified Skyra CIP members can access their CIS at any time by logging in to the platform at skyra.com.hk and navigating to the CIS section (Member Area → Customer Information Sheet). The document is generated in real time from your current profile and membership data and can be printed or saved as a PDF. If your account is pending KYC review, the CIS will be issued once verification is complete.

Is the CIS a legally binding document?

A Customer Information Sheet issued by Skyra CIP is an informational membership summary, not a legally binding contract. It references the Terms of Service you have accepted and the KYC verification outcome, but it does not in itself create trading obligations or constitute a guarantee of creditworthiness. It is intended for use in B2B due diligence exchanges as evidence of verified platform membership — similar in purpose to a company introduction letter, but with the added credibility of a third-party KYC-verified platform issuing it.
