Petroleum & Commodity Prices FAQ

What is the EN590 diesel price today?

The price of EN590 10 ppm ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) shown on this page is an indicative FOB Rotterdam reference price, calculated from real-time ICE Brent crude oil futures prices using industry-standard "crack spread" (refining margin) formulas.

What is the Brent crude oil price today?

The Brent crude price shown here is derived from live ICE Brent futures (BZ=F) and updated every 59 minutes. It reflects the nearest liquid futures contract and is the primary benchmark for approximately 65–70% of globally traded crude oil and all petroleum product prices.

What is the Jet A-1 aviation fuel price today?

The Jet A-1 price shown is an indicative FOB Rotterdam reference derived from Brent crude plus the jet crack spread — typically $30–80/MT above diesel, reflecting tighter specifications and higher refinery complexity for aviation-grade kerosene.

What is the VLSFO bunker fuel price today?

The VLSFO (Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil, 0.5% sulphur) price shown is an indicative market reference for Rotterdam — the world's second-largest bunkering hub. VLSFO has been the dominant marine fuel globally since the IMO 2020 sulphur cap took effect in January 2020.

How often are commodity prices updated on this page?

All petroleum product prices (EN590, Jet A-1, Brent crude, VLSFO, Gasoil/D2, Fuel Oil 180, Bitumen 60/70) are recalculated every 59 minutes from live ICE Brent crude data using proprietary crack spread formulas. Precious and base metals (gold, silver, copper, aluminium) are updated continuously from live market data feeds.

How is petroleum product price calculated from Brent crude?

Petroleum products are priced as Brent crude ($/bbl) multiplied by the barrels-per-tonne conversion factor (e.g. 7.45 for diesel), plus a crack spread. The crack spread is the refinery margin — EN590 crack is typically +$150–200/MT over Brent, Jet A-1 is +$180–260/MT, and VLSFO bunker is typically at a small discount to Brent on a per-tonne basis.

Are these petroleum prices firm tradeable quotes?

No. All prices on this page are indicative market references, not firm tradeable quotations or offers. They are calculated from publicly available benchmark data using proprietary pricing methodologies and are intended for commercial reference only. Actual transaction prices will depend on cargo specifics, delivery terms, payment conditions, and counterparty negotiations.

What is gasoil / D2 diesel and how does its price compare to EN590?

Gasoil is the broader category of middle-distillate petroleum including heating oil, agricultural diesel, marine gas oil (MGO), and the base grade for road diesel. D2 is the Russian GOST-specification gasoil. EN590 10ppm (ultra-low sulphur) typically trades at a $5–20/MT premium to standard gasoil due to stricter sulphur and cold-flow specifications required for Euro 5/6 vehicles.
